Jazz Ensembles

The Fountain-Fort Carson High School Jazz Bands - Crimson Jazz and Royal Jazz - are open by audition to all students currently enrolled in the FFCHS Band program. Students will perform in concerts and festivals, listen to the best jazz artists, and study jazz history and improvisation. Jazz Combo is the advanced ensemble comprised of members of the jazz band.

Only students who are concurrently enrolled in Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert Winds, or Concert Band may audition for these ensembles with the possible exception of guitar, bass and piano players. Jazz Band may not be a student's primary (only) band course during any semester.

Fountain-Fort Carson High School

Fountain-Fort Carson High School is the flagship traditional high school of its namesake, Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8 (FFC8). Located in Fountain, both the high school and the district serve the communities of Fountain and the Fort Carson army installation located nearby. FFC8 has approximately 8,100 students, with about 2,000 of those attending FFCHS. With five schools on Fort Carson (one middle school and four elementary schools), the district is roughly 70% military-connected.
